There are basically three different types of covers. They’re all pretty easy to work with. And they all will go over any prefold, fitted, contour, or flat diaper.

1. The Woolie- A wool soaker (looks like a pair of underwear). Wool wicks really well so your baby will stay dryer in a woolie, but you will have to take care of the woolie differently than the rest of your diapers. Lanolizing and NEVER putting it in the washer/dryer unless you want it to shrink.

2. The “Diaper Cover” – Glorified underwear! But they have a waterproof layer to keep urine and other wetness inside the diaper.

3. The Wrap- – Works much like a fitted diaper, but is very absorbent and sometimes waterproof. Some people just use wraps as diapers…. but mine get at least a wash-cloth in them as a regular absorbent diaper.
