They Don't Smell as Bad!

diaper-genieIf you’ve ever walked down the baby-aisle at a store (and who would be on this site if they haven’t) you may have noticed one main thing….. It smells weird! Next time you walk down the aisle, past the mountains of disposable diapers, take a whiff….. Just not too big of one, you might gag. OK… too much personal opinion…maybe. I completely dislike the smell of disposable diapers in case you haven’t noticed. I do have a couple of days of TINY diapers just in case the ones I made are too big in the very beginning, but they’re staying in their bags in an attempt to reign in the chemical smells.

OK, so you can get used to that smell when you’re using sposies, but NO ONE wants to get used to the smell of a dirty diaper pail. The thing is, unless you take them out to the curb for every single diaper, there’s no way to get away from that smell. Add that to the fact that most people don’t take the diaper-pail out until garbage day and the stench of disposables can be overwhelming (especially to guests).

Now consider the way most people choose to do cloth diapers. They’re in the laundry every other day. The dirty diapers don’t keep the poo in them in the first place, and then, if there is poo residue, it doesn’t stick around for a week! How cool is that!

Disposables – Two kinds of bad smell, the original chemical smell and the week-old poo smell in the diaper pail.
Cloth- Fresh out of the dryer (or off the line) smell just like the rest of your clothes and at most a 2-day old semi-poo smell. BEAUTIFUL… cloth wins, hands down!
